Tiger Balm Neck & Shoulder Rub Product Review

Tiger Balm Neck and Shoulder Rub

I had the wonderful opportunity to receive and try Tiger Balm's Neck & Shoulder Rub. Tiger Balm was first introduced to the USA in 1986 and has become a true competitor to all the other muscle rubs on the market today. I've been using the Neck & Shoulder Rub for about two weeks and have formed my own opinions of the product.

Pros:

The first thing I noticed when I started using it was that it does not have the greasy feel that other brands I have tried have. Once you rub it into your skin, your skin appears and feels dry. That's because Tiger Balm Neck & Shoulder Rub is water based and not oil based. You don't have to worry about it staining your clothes once it's dry.

The second thing I notice was that the packaging was very pleasing to the eye. The company didn't over due it which is a plus in my book. The front of the package had all the products important information.

The tube itself was unique in that it has a very unique top on it. Instead of a rounded top it has more of an oval shape top which was very easy to open. This would be great if I was older and had arthritis in my hands. I didn't have to twist several times to open. Just one full twist and BINGO it was open.

After I punctured the foil that was on the top, I was pretty excited to use it because I sit at the computer allot and my neck gets pretty sore. I took just a small dab of the rub and applied it to the back of my neck. It was cold at first but as I sat there it got warmer. It felt pretty good and my neck didn't hurt anymore.

Cons:

Although I love the fact that the product is very easy to get into as a mom of a very curious 5 year old, I think it may be too easy for him to access. I would love it if they come out with two different tubes. One that has the easy access top and one that is for homes that have small children and the tube has a child safety top.

Another thing that I personally didn't care for was the smell of the product. Now I know the other brands have strong odors too but this one was a menthol and almost a musky smell. I kind of smelled like I was using a mans product and that's not cool.

Would I recommend Tiger Balm Neck & Shoulder Rub to others?

Yes. Other than the two cons, I think this is a wonderful product. It did exactly what the box said it would do and I loved the fact that it wasn't greasy.
