Lysol® Back-to-School Giveaway and Review {Contest Closed}

This giveaway will end Friday, September 2nd @ 12:01 AM EST.

It's hard to believe Summer is coming to an end already. I haven't started back-to-school shopping just yet but I will be doing that next week. Even though I'm excited for them to start back, I'm always thinking about all the germs they will be bringing home.

I know one of the products I will be stocking up on and that is Lysol®. Thanks to MomSelect and Lysol, I was able to try out the Lysol® Healthy Touch® No-Touch Hand Soap System and Lysol® Disinfecting Wipes: Dual Action. Can I start by telling you how much I LOVE the No-Touch Hand Soap System?

I put the unit in my kitchen, next to the kitchen sink. It comes with 4 AA batteries, a refill and the unit itself. The soap smells really good and leaves your hands soft. There is an on/off switch in the back of the unit so the batteries don't wear down when you are not using it.

When you turn the unit on, there is a red light that will flash a couple of times. When the light stops flashing, your soap machine is ready to use. Wave your hand in front of the machine and a dime to nickle size soap will dispense. It took the unit a couple of tries before it would dispense the soap but after it dispensed the first drop, the unit worked perfectly every time.

Some more interesting info and helpful links about the product:

Lysol® Healthy Touch® No-Touch Hand Soap System helps eliminate the millions of germs that your hands can pick up each day! It automatically senses hands and dispenses just the right amount of soap. Handwashing is one of the most important steps you and your children can take to help you stay healthy and
with the sleek stainless steel-inspired Lysol® No-Touch handsoap system, you and your family will never have to touch a germy soap pump again! The new look not only makes hand washing easy and fun, it helps consumers avoid the germy soap pump and also blends with any kitchen or bathroom decor.

What’s more, the system’s antibacterial hand soap kills 99.9% of bacteria on hands when used as directed – so it’s ideal for use in the kitchen or bathroom. The starter kit includes a dispenser, one hand soap refill, and four AA batteries. When you use the Lysol® Healthy Touch® No-Touch Hand Soap System, you’ll know you’re helping your family by fostering proper and effecting handwashing to help prevent the spread of germs.

Antibacterial hand soap refills for the Lysol® No-Touch Hand Soap System are enriched with moisturizing ingredients and available in four great scents:
• Refreshing Grapefruit Essence™
• Soothing Cucumber Splash™
• Aloe Vera & Vitamin E with Moisturizers
• Antibacterial Total Care

Handwashing Tips - Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs. Every time you touch a contaminated surface, you can transfer germs to and from your hands — but proper and thorough hand washing removes most germs from your hands.

Handwashing Poster - Make handwashing fun by downloading a handwashing poster to read together and hang by your bathroom sink.

Back-To-School Basics: Traditionally, classrooms are breeding ground for germs. Every desktop, pencil sharpener, doorknob and faucet that an infected child touches becomes colonized with germs.

The next item I got to try was the Lysol® Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes. These were awesome! I opened up the container and pulled a wipe out. One side is smooth and the other side was a little rough, but not too rough.

I used one of the wipes on my wood laminate floor to clean up gum the kids smashed on the floor. I was a bit worried that the rough side would scratch the floor but it didn't and it cleaned up the gum in a matter of seconds!

I also used the rough side of the wipe to clean soap scum off my acrylic bath tub. Again, I was worried it would scratch the tub so I didn't apply alot of pressure to the scrub and the soap scum came off with no problem. I would test an area first before using it on your tub, just to make sure it won't scratch your tub.

Some more information and helpful links on the wipes:

Lysol® Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes have two sides that go beyond ordinary wipes. Use one side for everyday touch-ups and the other to scrub through tough messes. Because Dual Action Wipes are from the Lysol® Brand, you can also trust them to kill 99.9% of germs when used as directed. Use Dual Action Wipes all around your home to clean and disinfect. Lysol® Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes come in Citrus and
Crisp Linen® scent.
  • Kills 99.9% of Viruses and Bacteria when used as directed
  • Kills Cold and Flu Viruses including Pandemic 2009 H1N1 Influenza A
  • One side with built in Fibers for Tough Messes or a Side for Touch-up cleaning
Establish Before- and After-School Hygiene Habits - As your child adapts to the school-day routine, you can help make hygiene a regular part of the day with some basic actions both before and after school.
