Aerobie Skylighter Flying Disc is not your average Frisbee. It is a bit bigger than a traditional Frisbee which helps with accuracy and stability. The disc that I received had a blue rubber rim around the clear disc.
I was happy to read on the back of the box that the lights are replaceable if the batteries were to run out. That is a big plus in my book. I've had Frisbee's that had lights before and could not find the replacement lights anywhere.
Another HUGE bonus about Aerobie Skylighter Disc is that it is Made in the USA! It retails for $15 and is sold at Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and most other sporting goods stores. Do you know how hard it is to find toys that are made here in the USA? I think most of my kids toys are made in China or Taiwan. I remember my son asking me once, "How come our toys aren't made in the USA?" I didn't have an answer for him.
My 10 year old and I took our new Aerobie Skylighter Disc out for a test run and had tons of fun with it. I hit the tips of my fingers several times but it didn't hurt like a traditional Frisbee. It was very easy to hold and throw. So easy, my 6 year old was able to throw it.
We were able to keep playing after the sun was just about gone by turning on the L.E.D lights. It kind of looks like a mini UFO with the lights on. Both of my son's thought that was really cool.
We live on a dirt road and have gravel in our driveway. It was a little windy when we were playing with the Skylighter Disc but that didn't affect the flight of it at all. In fact, it hit the dirt several times, only because I'm not very coordinated, and only received one scratch on the clear part of the disc.
My overall thoughts about this product is that it is an awesome good time for kids, grown-ups and the entire family. I give it two thumbs up!
Now for the coolest part of all! It's GIVEAWAY time. Aerobie has authorized A Mom From The Burbs to giveaway (1) Aerobie Skylighter Disc to one of my followers. This contest is open to USA and Canada residents 18 and older. The winner will be announce September 30th at 12:01am ET.
