Embarrassing Moments at Work - Life of a Recruiter

We've all had those moments where we feel like a complete idiot. You know what I'm talking about. Those moments where you feel like burying your head in the sand.

I had one of those moments at work. I was alone in the office that day. My co-worker had called off and I didn't expect anyone to come in because he rescheduled all his appointments. I was working remotely from the office trying to fill positions for the following week.

To my surprise there was a gentleman that came in for his interview appointment. He didn't get the message that his interview had been rescheduled. No biggie, I figured I would just conduct the interview since he was already there and I am a Recruiter.

I got up from my desk to grab a drug test form from our lobby. I was making my way back to my office, where I had the person I was interviewing, when my ankle rolled due to a divot in the floor. I tried my best to stop myself from falling but...BOOM! Down I went right in front of the applicant.

He let out a, "OH MY GOSH!! ARE YOU OKAY?" Embarrassed, I told him I was fine, got myself up off the ground, returned to my office and proceeded to finish the interview in complete shock and horror. My knee was throbbing the entire time I was talking to him and I felt like crawling under a rock, but I had a job to do. After he left the office, I sat in my office looking at my skinned knee and in pain. I couldn't help but laugh at how stupid I must've looked to him as I fell.

Good thing it wasn't caught on video or I'd die from embarrassment. I shared my embarrassing Recruiter moment, what is yours? Share in the comments below.
